Overhead at our house on the day of the royal wedding

Ella: Upon being told that a passport was all one needed to get to England (nevermind some cash, too), she proclaimed, "I have one of those! I want to go there so I can find a prince and become a real princess, too!"

Keeton: Seeing Catherine on the news said, "She's so beautiful!" (but it came out in his still cute little boy-speak as bootiful.

Jeff:  I was almost late to work today.
Me: Why?
Jeff: Because I was watching the royal wedding.
Me: Really??
Jeff: Yeah, I was waiting to see them kiss.
SERIOUSLY???  Totally made me laugh! Same guy who thought Prince William's name was Steve.  Your Royal Highness Steve...right.

He's 5 and he lost his first tooth

Keeton turned the momentous "five" on Wednesday.  Something about turning five just makes me sad... he is not a toddler, not really a big-kid, but somewhere in the middle of it all.  This is his last summer before kindergarten, the last few months of mommy and daddy being the center of his small world.  I remember when Ella turned five--she still seemed so little to me (well she was little in size, for sure).  Keeton just seems a bit more self-sufficient, so turning five seals the deal, so to speak.

Yesterday (Friday), Keeton also lost his very first tooth!  He didn't even realize it was gone until we asked him where it went. Who knows where it went--literally.  I have a feeling it is making its way through Keeton's digestive track.  Of course, the fear from him was what would happen with the Tooth Fairy, so Ella wrote a note letting the Tooth Fairy know her brother had probably swallowed the tooth, so please leave him money anyway.  Lucky for Keeton, Ella's note worked!

A little more whining...sorry

Obviously, I've not posted a single thing since I went back to work two weeks ago.  We are all just busy again and now that we have five soccer commitments each week, two dance classes, and baseball gearing up on top of it being my busiest time of the work year, things are just a little hectic.  I got caught up at work tonight and couldn't get out at the time I really needed to to get home, grab Ella, and make it to a 5:30 soccer practice, so that just made me grumpy.  I can't stand being rushed or late, or any combination of the two.  Ask Jeff-if we are running late somewhere, I'd just rather not go.  While we made it to her practice (late), I once again found myself acknowledging that being half an hour away from home is a huge waste of my precious little family time (and my precious little sanity).  We had an offer on our house two weekends ago this Sunday, but we just couldn't get the buyers to come up to a reasonable offer.  Now, I am sort of wishing we'd just taken their crappy offer--I mean, what is my family's time worth, you know? Too late now, I guess, and with our contract with the builder only valid until May 30th, I am calling in prayer reinforcements.  P.L.E.A.S.E.!
